Woman Proposed In The Worst Possible Way But Girlfriend Still Said Yes

Most people dream about the day they’d get engaged. They may have very perfect and dreamy expectations from their special day, be it the person proposing, or the person getting proposed. Sadly, sometimes things don’t go as expected. This woman had to learn this the hard way, when her boyfriend’s proposal turned out to be disappointing. The couple has been together for around seven years and they also have a son who’s an year old.

Recently, the pair got into a fight, as a result of which the boyfriend threw a ring box at his girlfriend and yelled at her to open it. The woman took to Reddit to share the story of her disappointing proposal. She wrote that she didn’t open the ring box as he was mad when he did it. She added that he returned the next day with the ring box, just when she was stepping into the shower as well as handling their baby.

He asked her to open the ring box and when she opened it, it was empty. He said “yep just an empty box” and started flashing the box open and close in front of her. She asked him what even was the point of him doing that while she was trying to have a shower as well as comfort their son. He then went down on his knee and burst into laughter before finally getting up and asking the woman if she thought the box was empty.

By the time she got out of the shower, her son had become very upset so she laid down on the bed to nurse him. Her partner laid back down with his ring box once again and said the word empty before opening it. This annoyed the woman very much as she was feeding their son, while she was still soaking wet from her shower and hadn’t even got the time to put on her clothes. Her boyfriend thought it was a fun game and threw the box at her, from where it bounced off and fell onto the floor, sitting there for a few seconds before he finally picked it up.

While she was still struggling to feed her son who was screaming as he fed from her, her boyfriend got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She added that there was magically a ring in the box. She also wrote that his timing couldn’t have been any more worse. It took the woman 15 minutes to say yes as she was in the middle of feeding her son and because she was very disappointed with how her boyfriend had proposed to her.

She asked the people on Reddit if her feeling upset about this whole situation was justified. To this, one user commented that the guy really made sure that there wasn’t any affection or intimacy. A second person questioned the woman whether she was sure about marrying this guy. They added that he didn’t really seem like a good boyfriend and if he wasn’t a good boyfriend, he’ll surely not be a good husband. Another user wrote that the woman obviously wasn’t in a great position for a proposal but he didn’t even try to make it special. They also wrote that it was annoying and confusing.
