Woman Forced Her Friends To Mourn At Her Fake Funeral

Mayra Alonzo, a 59-year-old woman from the Dominican Republic was so eager to know how it feels to be dead that she organized a fake funeral for herself and also rented a coffin and compelled her closest friends to mourn for her while she laid in the coffin for hours just to make it look realistic.

She titled it a ‘rehearsal funeral’ back in April in Santiago. She paid attention to the fine details of the funeral to make it look as real as possible. Her efforts included covering herself in a white dress entirely, putting cotton buds in her nose to portray herself as a corpse.

Weirdly, her family and friends not only attended the fake funeral but also mourned for her. They went towards the coffin, fake cried, and said their last words to the lovely friend who laid there as a false corpse.

To make it look less fake, they had also arranged drinks and food. They sat and recollected all the sweet memories they had with Mayra while she was fake dead in the coffin and listening to the stories.

Listening to the stories her friends recited made her feel good about her existence and the relations she had made in her life. She felt grateful for whatever memories she had made as they lasted in her heart forever.

Her desire to have a fake funeral caused her $1,000 which was way less than what it would have caused if she actually died. Factually, it had to cost her less as everything was fake and she didn’t have to buy a coffin or pay for the burial and cremation.

The way Mayra had arranged everything, it did not look any less than a real funeral taking place. Mayra shared that the event of the fake funeral was totally a successful thing for her and she almost felt it as a fun fantasy coming true.

Later, Mayra also revealed what she felt being fake dead and conveyed insightful thoughts to her close ones.

She told them that she couldn’t afford any of her close ones to die as it was not such an amazing experience to be lying there in the coffin. She said there are various techniques to get your loved ones to speak for you and make them yearn for you but fake dying is not one of them.
