Located in the desert town of Tonopah, Nevada, this motel, with its neon sign, seems to be an attractive stop for the clown lovers. But if you aren’t the one, it can bring you nightmares. Another trepidation would be due to its surrounding, as it is located right next to a cemetery. It’d still be a question if the guests can sleep peacefully in the motel. Besides, the motel is the home to 2,000 figurines and is haunted.

To make it more appealing to the clown overs, Hame Anand has contributed to the fullest. The journey started when he, with his friends, had visited a circus in India when he was 14 years old. For the first time, he was looking at the tigers, elephants, and aerobatics. However, he could just manage to sit for 15 minutes and left the place. After a while, he thought about visiting it again and thereafter, got his opinion changed after seeing the clowns.

He said: “I fell in love with that character. From that day on, I started collecting clowns.” Back in 2017, Anand had collected over 200 clown figures, living in Vegas, and was guiding his family for the motel business. Bob Perchetti, the original owner of the Clown Motel, with close to 800 figurines, decided to bring his business to halt and listed the property for $900,000. So, this came up as a great opportunity for Hame Anand, which he got as a gift from his brother.

However, concerns still needed to be addressed. Tonopah isn’t great for the tourism as entire Vegas. Above all, the Clown Motel is right next to a cemetery, but for Anand, it’s the best of what he had expected. He said: “So I know that even if you had $10 million, you’re not going to get that kind of publicity. I told my brother: ‘See, this motel is very popular and the graveyard – that’s the catch’.” And then, Anand became the CEO of the Clown Motel.

There were some accounts of strange noises, footsteps, the sound of doors opening and closing. To some extent, it had brought terror for Anand as well. But he realized the reason for coming up to the motel and considered the energy to just supporting him for his work. And they didn’t concern him much. He explained: “This was how I knew that they were telling me: ‘We are here, but don’t worry about that.’”

They gathered information from the guests, and it transpired that 108, 109, 210, 215, and 217 were the places for more paranormal activities. So, Anand decided to go with the flow and went on to create Friday the 13th, Halloween, The Exorcist, and It rooms. To his surprise, it gained such recognition that people from all around the world have started to visit this motel for a night, be it Germany, Scotland, England, Switzerland, France, etc. Also, if you’ve clown figures, you can think of donating it to the Clown Motel.
