The Rock Serenades Friend’s Mom As She Turns 91
With some celebrities like Dwayne Johnson, fame doesn’t seem to get to his head in a way which might have isolated him from the rest of the world affairs however, this might not be true for all the celebrities. In a recent Instagram video, Dwayne Johnson had shared the latest installment in his series “Being a Genuinely Good Dude.” Well, it might not be an official series, but it’s the way Johnson has lived his life. The Rocks knew firsthand how far a little support could go, and he had seemed to be spending the rest of his life paying it forward. Most recently, he’d done so by serenading the mother of his long-time friend on her 91st birthday.
That one was special and man it just made him emo watching Mama Ruthie talk back to the screen, Johnson had captioned his video. Celebrating Ruthie’s 91st Birthday and what a beautiful, inspiring life she’d lived.
Ruthie’s son, Andy Fickman was his long-time brother (and director of his first Disney movie years ago called, The Game Plan), Johnson continued. He used to say that all the time and he meant it from the heart, stuff like that was truly the best part of his fame. Happy Birthday Mama Ruthie Love you, DJ aka your favorite son. The video had opened with a fully captivated Mama Ruthie, hand over her mouth as she’d watched Johnson sing ‘Happy Birthday.’ When the actor sung her name, Mama Ruthie let out a heartwarming laugh, clapping softly before touching the screen.
‘Thank you, Thank you!’ She’d repeated as she was moved by Johnson’s thoughtful gesture. The Rock continued to share a personal birthday message with the 91-year-old. She’d nodded along, fixated on Johnson with the adoring intensity they’d all witnessed in their own grandparents.
Although Mama Ruthie wasn’t actually related to the Jumanji actor, they’d clearly shared a special bond. Johnson is definitely known for celebrating those who’d made a positive impact on him, and Mama Ruthie was no exception. As he’d mentioned in his caption, gestures like those meant the world to him. Perhaps, the ability to brighten the lives of so many unknown people altogether is for sure something he doesn’t take for granted. As long as he had fame, the wrestler who’d apparently turned into an actor would undoubtedly continue using it for spreading smiles.
