Man Posts Bizarre Listing For Finding The Right Housemate With ‘Right Energy’
Finding a place to live and that too with strangers is not easy. It is a stressful thing to do. And a man from Dublin, Ireland is making sure that he finds the write roommate that matches his energy. He is doing everything so that the right man comes as his roommate and move into his four-bedroom house.
He even has a list made for that as his advertisement. And well his advertisement caught eyes of many and was shared on Twitter when people were bemused with his advertisement. His main points from the list are that housemate should work from home and should join his little community.
His advertisement reads as: “Unique opportunity to share 4-bedroom house with 3 others beside beach in Sandymount, Dublin 4 at low rent. Current occupants are 1. Owner (male 40s) who is retired and a passionate gardener, 2. Brazilian (female) IT professional (20s) working from home, and 3. American (female) IT master’s student (20s) studying from home.”

Other than listing the current occupants the man listed what all he expects from the housemate and it reads as: “I expect this would particularly suit a writer, artist, a mindfulness practitioner or someone who studies at home. We seek someone interested in nature, gardening and participating in our little community – we do NOT seek someone involved in the modern-day rat race or who has a job outside the home.”
It further had an explanation for all the expectations and it read as: “The rent is below the market rate because the primary goal is not commercial but rather to find the right person who will bring good energy to the home. Replies should include a brief description of yourself and a mobile number.”
Well, his advertisement had mixed reactions from people. While some understood that why he did what he did. Some understood that the person has his reasons and wanted to create the right environment and wants to clarify everything in advance. But some were seriously offended from the advertisement. The advertisement on Twitter got 2,000 likes.
A person wrote: “So just because it doesn’t suit you, you decide he’s a weirdo? Ever think he could just be a nice guy trying to help others while creating a nice environment for himself?” Well, this is one perspective and is not wrong. Rather than having issues and differences later. It is good that the man is making himself very clear in the beginning. It is not easy to find and change housemates every day. But yes, there is no denying that many people were offended by the advertisement.
