Lonely Boy Called 911 In Need Of A Friend And A Cop Responded

It had been a routine day for the police department in Florida. Officer Joe White had been all ready for a day full of saving lives and being a regular policeman solving the crimes around his city. He had no idea today his help call would also include one from a six-year-old boy, who would on being lonely would call for a friend. The young lad had called 911 behind his unsuspecting mother’s back.

Officer White rather than brushing away the call as a prank call, showed up at the boy’s house on a busy Tuesday and made friends with him. The officer sure told the boy about the working of 911 and how he could not simply call the emergency number if he just felt lonely. There are reasons the number is called an emergency number and that needed to be told to the lad. The child was made to understand that he shouldn’t be calling up on the emergency number every time he needed a friend.

This incident came to the limelight when the Police Department put up a public Facebook post on its official page. The post clearly showed and emphasized how much the department was grateful for the ray of positivity the call brought to the department. The team was pretty ecstatic to have a new friend and did make the young boy feel special. They brought their new friend to the police car, a feat not many non-criminals can say to have achieved. Then also gave the young boy a stuffed toy, a sweet little friend for the lonely child in my opinion.

The comment section of the post also blew up with extremely positive and encouraging comments. From comments thanking the police department to telling their kid would be happy to be his friends the comments were extremely positive and encouraging. The positivity that was spread was quite heartwarming and contagious.

The incident sure struck the soft corner of the hearts of the readers and also shows a more sensitive and soft side of the police department. Always shrouded with darkness of the crime this gave the officers a break and the department a flood of positivity. Such small acts of kindness make them look, perhaps more human. Always seen as tough and extremely strict people who are pretty tough and strong these incidents make them look like people with heart. Not to mention how adorable the call by the young boy was.
